Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA)

General Summary

The BY YOUR SIDE Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst BCaBA) is responsible for assisting with evaluation, creation, and implementation of ABA therapy plans, accurate and reliable data collection, consultation, and training with family and staff. The Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create and maintain therapy plans that address all behavioral and skill acquisition needs of the clients.

The BCaBA is responsible to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions, have the ability to read, analyze and responds to inquiries or complaints from clients and effectively presents information to top management.

The BCaBA operates in a professional and clinical environment with clinical responsibilities. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. This is a full-time position and hours of work and days vary based on the needs of clients/business. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required, as needed.

Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities

Core duties and responsibilities include the following:

Responsible for enforcing standards for BCaBA to maintain BY YOUR SIDE’s high quality of care for clients and families.

  • Ensure that ethical standards and HIPAA compliance are enforced.
  • Assist with initial evaluation to determine appropriate clinical recommendation and therapy plan.
  • Maintain a comprehensive therapy plan for each client; long range goals, short range objectives, activities related to these objectives and an evaluation of progress toward these objectives.
  • Collaborate and communicate with relevant BY YOUR SIDE staff to ensure effective and efficient implementation plans.
  • Consult and plan with the client’s family concerning their progress in development.
  • Assist with evaluation and preparation required for progress reports as dictated by insurance parties per request from parents/guardians.
  • Assist with evaluation and report preparation as dictated by best practices and insurance payors.
  • Arrange parent meetings to maintain communication and training with the family coaching goals.
  • Attend recommended professional meetings and seminars to meet continuing education requirements as approved by the BY YOUR SIDE executive staff.
  • Represent BY YOUR SIDE to local, state, and national organizations in a positive manner when attending professional seminars.
  • Maintain current certification with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
  • Maintain up-to-date credentialing across CAQH and insurance companies.
  • Provide input and assist in the ongoing growth and development of the BY YOUR SIDE programming.
  • Participate in clinical support shifts based on a rotating schedule of eligible team members to ensure appropriate clinical support within the center during all operating hours.
  • Responsible for documenting qualifying supervision meetings on BCaBA Supervision Meeting Form.
  • Retain copies of the service-delivery hours and supervision meeting details to include the following details: service-delivery hours and dates, supervision hours and dates, supervisor name, and dates on which service-delivery was observed.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Skills Required

Include demonstrated competencies and physical, mental, & interpersonal skills.

  • Bachelor's degree required in relevant field.
  • Obtain three (3) hours of continuing education related to supervision during each certification cycle.
  • Completion of eight (8) hour competency-based training covering the BACB’s Supervisor Training Curriculum Outline.
  • Pass online module on BACB experience standards available through BACB Gateway.
  • Must possess strong communications and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently with changing priorities and deadlines, from remote location(s).
  • High interest in working with children on the autism spectrum
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, execute on deadlines and produce high quality deliverables with attention to details.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Uphold and maintain BYS core principles, policies and procedures.
